Sarah Palin does too know that Africa is a continent, you know she does and I know she does. So what if she only wore a towel to answer her hotel room door? Did she take it off for those big Republican guns? Nooooooo she didn’t, did she. What’s really happening here is that the Greedy Billionaire wing of the Republican party is afraid of her. Very afraid. And they should be.

Everyone with an ounce of Republican left inside them is insisting that Sarah Palin will still be a force of nature in politics after Tuesday night. That doesn’t seem likely, based on the shelf life of all the past candidates for Vice President who lost elections. None of them ever made it to the White House or even got close.
But Sarah does have a future in the entertainment business. I’m reminded of the numbed out heroine Louise Lasser played in the classic faux soap opera “Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman” each time I see that deer in the headlights look on Sarah’s face. It wouldn’t take much to transform the raw facts of her life in Wasilla into a show every bit as good and twice as funny. Put a talking moose on the wall and plant Mr. Green Jeans’ hydroponic pot farm next door and it’s a winner for sure. For those who doubt her acting ability, just watch these audition videos.

Time Magazine gets right to the heart of the Palin problem: when it comes to politics, she’s a clueless amateur. So how did McCain and his advisors ever consider her a viable running mate? It seems unlikely we’ll ever have a good answer to that question, which leads us to conclude that Johnny Maverick just generally lacks good judgement.

Did Governor Sarah Palin abuse the power of her office in trying to get her former brother-in-law, State Trooper Mike Wooten, fired? Yes.
Was the refusal to fire Mike Wooten the reason Palin fired Commissioner of Public Safety Walt Monegan? Not exclusively, and it was within her rights as the states’ chief executive to fire him for just about any reason, even without cause.
Those answers were expected, given that most of the best pieces of evidence have been part of the public record for months. The result is not a mortal wound to Palin, nor does it put her at much risk of being forced to leave the ticket her presence succeeded in energizing.
But the Branchflower report still makes for good reading, if only because it convincingly answers a question nobody had even thought to ask: Is the Palin administration shockingly amateurish? Yes, it is. Disturbingly so.

Sarah Palin and her husband Todd abused the authority of the Alaska Governor’s office by attempting to have an Alaska State Trooper fired for personal reasons. This was the primary finding of the Alaska Legislative Council, a group which consists of 10 Republicans and 4 Democrats. Any suggestion that this report was the result of a partisan political process or politically motivated is a ridiculous assertion. I’ll say it again: 10 Republicans and 4 Democrats are on the committee that reported today that Sarah Palin mis-used the power of the Alaska Governor’s office.

A legislative investigation has concluded that Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power in pushing for the firing of an Alaska state trooper who was once married to her sister.
The report by investigator Steve Branchflower was made public late this afternoon by a 12-0 vote of the Legislative Council, which authorized the investigation.

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75-year old Texas rancher whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man.
Eventually the topic got around to Sarah Palin and her bid to be a heartbeat away from being President.
The old rancher said, “Well, ya know, Palin is a post turtle.”
Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a post turtle was.
The old rancher said, “When you’re driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, it’s a post turtle.”
The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor’s face, so he continued to explain.

Barack Obama, she told 8,000 fans at a rally here Monday afternoon, “launched his political career in the living room of a domestic terrorist!” This followed her earlier accusation that the Democrat pals around with terrorists. “This is not a man who sees America the way you and I see America,” she told the Clearwater crowd. “I’m afraid this is someone who sees America as imperfect enough to work with a former domestic terrorist who had targeted his own country.” The crowd replied with boos.
She wants you to believe that Obama doesn’t support our troops:
Palin also told those gathered that Obama doesn’t like American soldiers. “He said that our troops in Afghanistan are just, quote, ‘air-raiding villages and killing civilians,’ ” she said, drawing boos from a crowd that had not been told Obama was actually appealing for more troops in Afghanistan.
She’ll stop at nothing in her pursuit of power, including blatant racism by her supporters:
Worse, Palin’s routine attacks on the media have begun to spill into ugliness. In Clearwater, arriving reporters were greeted with shouts and taunts by the crowd of about 3,000. Palin then went on to blame Katie Couric’s questions for her “less-than-successful interview with kinda mainstream media.” At that, Palin supporters turned on reporters in the press area, waving thunder sticks and shouting abuse. Others hurled obscenities at a camera crew. One Palin supporter shouted a racial epithet at an African American sound man for a network and told him, “Sit down, boy.”
This is one dog that needs to be sent straight to the pound.

Poor Sarah Palin, McCain doesn’t trust her to open her mouth in public. He didn’t let her talk to any of the fun TV people after the debate last night. He must think she’s reeeeally stoooopid, too much of an idiot to even say “We Won!” in a believable way. The networks all wanted to put her up there on the screen like they did Joe Biden, but nooooo. McCain and his team locked her in a closet in Philadelphia and wouldn’t give her permission to speak.
